Can anyone tell me why is it that when you have to run to Walmart (or Target for that matter) for one thing you come out with an entire cart full of stuff?

This was me today..here is my list for what I needed today

Somehow, and I don’t know how this happens, a ton of other stuff found its way into my cart! Things like new panties for my daughter, new flip flops for my daughter, a crazy Tinkerbelle hair extension thing…you guessed it, for my daughter. Bandana’s in all different colors so that I can make shirts (from this site I found 15 minute dress from Treyandlucy.blogspot.com and the ribbons for the shirts again for my daughter. Then I got the new mouse for my desktop, but also got a new mouse pad and I needed some of the air in a can stuff, you know to blow the dust off my keyboard and stuff…finally we are making our way to the checkout in the garden center since that is the where we parked. Then my husband starts in with the ‘ oh I wanted to get a new rake…and we should get some solar powered lights for the walkway in the front yard”.

What started out as a $10 trip to Walmart turned into a $120 trip! I ask you again, how does this happen and am I the only one?!

Aloha Friday

It’s time for Aloha Friday again! Yay!

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link on islandlife808.com. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question is:

What is your favorite thing about the beginning of summer?

My favorite thing about the beginning of summer is that its the start of bbq’s and pool parties with all the friends and family! I love having family dinners and seeing all of our friends laughing together and enjoying each other. The rest of the year it seems everyone is too busy with school or work or the approaching holidays and we feel rushed. In the summertime though, everything seems more relaxed, more willing to take the time to stay and play and have a good time. That is my favorite thing about the beginning of summer;)!

Friday Fill It Ins!

1. It’s NEVER cold and rainy in Phoenix.

2. I love to eat fresh tomatoes.

3. My favorite health and beauty product is almost anything by Philosophy.

4. I would love to go for a nice long ride.

5. Well, first of all my daughter is an amazing little person and secondly, she cracks me up on a daily basis with the things she says.

6. Myself and Rob Pattinson; those were the cast of characters in a recent dream and it was heavenly.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to my husband getting off work, tomorrow my plans include helping friends move and chores and Sunday, I want to relax!

Thursday’s Writers Workshop

The Prompts:

1.) What is your life’s anthem? You know…that song that is ALWAYS in your head. The one you’d go to sing first if someone told you to sing a song right NOW. What is it and what does it mean to you?

2.) We love telemarketers don’t we!?! Describe a memorable experience you had with one.

3.) How much does focusing on weight affect your daily life?

4.) Describe in what ways you expect too much from your significant other. Do they deserve an apology?

5.) List ten things that make you HAPPY.

6.) Share a sleep walking story of your own!!

So I am going to choose number 5 this week! Here we go, List TEN things that make you happy –

1) My daughter snuggling up with me in the morning.
2) My husband putting his hand on the small of my back when we walk.
3) My family all together having family dinners.
4) Hearing my niece call my name, or her version of my name (She-She!).
5) Photography.
6) All things Twilight =).
7) The ocean.
8) PhoenixMommies.
9) Malibu and Pepsi on the rocks.
10) Saving money.

Now its your turn, head over to MamaKat’s blog http://mamakatslosinit.blogspot.com/ and do your own Writers Workshop!

Do you ever have one of those days where you can see all the things that really need to be done around your house, but you cannot get yourself up off your couch (or desk chair in my case today!) to do them? This is totally me today.

My in laws are coming out in just under two weeks and now is definitely NOT the time to let my house go to pot. But dang if I could get myself motivated. All I really had to do today was clean the kitchen (hello holiday weekend full of shopping and eating out and parties and just general laziness = HORRIBLY DIRTY KITCHEN in my house) and clean the bathrooms. That doesn’t seem like a lot, it would take maybe an hour tops to get it knocked out.

So instead, I just sit here at my desk (which is covered at the moment in cookbooks and that is a whole other story) eyeballin’ the kitchen that is mostly clean now, but still has a few things soaking in the sink that I really really don’t feel like getting up and finishing…and my bathrooms, well I did manage to get up and clean the guest bathroom since my good friend Cat comes over every Tuesday night and although I know she loves me even if my house is dirty, I still like to pretend that I keep a clean house…most days. Anyway, I didn’t finish that bathroom yet either though as I haven’t done the tub/shower. But you see how the day has gone. I get motivated just enough to start the projects and then the phone rings, or my daughter needs/wants my attention and the bathroom and kitchen are forgotten again…until I sit at my desk and peer over at my sink once again…ugh! Maybe, just maybe I can work up the motivation to finish the guest bath and the kitchen before Cat gets here and then all will be forgotten again while we are talking and laughing and preparing dinner…until tonight when I go to get ready for bed and I am staring at dirty master bathroom. Oh well, there is always tomorrow I suppose.

Photo Walkin’ The Neighborhood

So we took a little family walk this evening since its so nice out today…while on our walk, I decided to take the little CanonSD1100IS that is kept in my purse whenever we go anywhere. There really wasn’t much interesting or that caught my eye except this..

…it just struck me as cool looking. Oh and there was one other one that I had to get…

…this is Gargoyle, we all say hello whenever we pass him by. =)
