Things are crazy busy with me as usual, I am running PhoenixMommies as well as the other sites that I NA. I have had some issues with a couple of the sites losing the SA’s and having to deal with replacing them. On top of that still getting settled in the new house. Lots of stress with all that. Finally though it looks like things are slowing down and we might be able to breathe. I have more photography sessions lined up starting next week and I am really excited about that! Hopefully I will have some great shots to share very soon!
and a pedicure! This is what I got to do yesterday morning. One of my good friends treated me to a girls morning at the salon. We had pedicures and then got our eyebrows ‘threaded’ (instead of waxed)! I feel like a new woman and I have got to start making time to do this regularly!
In the almost 5 years that I have been a wife and mom, I have been out for a girls night less than 10 times total. That has GOT to change!
So last night a few of my friends and I went out for a girls night to dinner last night, had a couple of drinks and some food and conversation!
Thanks girls for hanging out with me last night!! Can’t wait til next time!
Ok so this is a little early but I know I have a jam packed day tomorrow before going over to Goonga’s house for his b-day BBQ, so I am doing this early!
Happy Birthday Little Brother! September 12, 1980 my little brother was born in Putnam Connecticut. He is a good man, a good brother and a good son. I am so proud of him and I can’t believe that my baby brother is a 28 year old, married father of one beautiful daughter, and a Phoenix Firefighter. Love you little brother!!
We have been unpacking little by little since we moved in a week ago (has it really ONLY been one week?). Our rooms are really mostly done, just a few little things to hang on the walls, the bathroom is mostly done, with the exception of one box. Its the kitchen I have been dreading…we had literally probably 8 boxes of kitchen stuff (dishes, pots, pans, all the kitchen utensils…). So today while Sean had the day off we decided to tackle the kitchen.
I am really glad that we did! I feel like I am cooking in my own kitchen again. We didn’t get rid of all of gramma’s stuff, but we have the majority of our stuff in use because lets face it, I got married 4 years ago and gramma got married in 1955, her stuff has seen better days. She has some stuff that has been bought in the last 10 years, but again, my stuff is newer and in better condition and was better stuff to begin with. (hello, Pampered Chef bridal shower anyone?!).
So I am feeling more at home here in my new home and that is a really great feeling, finally!
We took a field trip to the new local library and discovered the selection of not only adult books, but the children’s department is HUGE compared to the library we are used to in Peoria. We got a great assortment of books for the school week theme of the week of ‘healthy living’ and also on the letter A and the number 1. Really excited!
Why is it that some people in my family will never take responsibility for themselves and their actions? They just continue to play the victim when in reality, the consequences of THEIR actions are why they are in the position they are in today? They continue to try and lay the blame at everyone else’s door except their own. This pisses me off royally. Don’t come to my door and bring your drama and BS and try to say its MY fault that you are stupid and disrespectful and don’t understand what you should have learned as a small child but never did. AGGHHH!!!
Ok, I think my rant is over. But seriously, why?
Most people know that I was home-schooled from 8th grade through graduation of high school and that we have decided to home-school Hannah, so for those who didn’t know, now you do!
So we officially started school today now that we are moved in and things are getting organized. I have a closet that is setup with all of the school stuff and craft things.
Each week I am going to be doing a ‘theme of the week’ where we will learn specifically about things relating to that theme. We will go on field trips, cook certain foods, read certain books from the library all relating to that theme.
So since we started today, and today is Friday we just did a simple color page with the letter A and then a tracing page with tracing the letter A in both lowercase and capital.
I am trying to put together my ‘lesson plan’ for next week that is relating to A and a theme. Any ideas?
I cannot even begin to describe how ecstatic I am that the move is completed. We have nothing at the apartment and its been completely cleaned and the keys have been turned in.
We have been packing and cleaning and moving for 2 weeks now, with all the family drama and a wedding thrown in since we didn’t have enough going on!
The wedding was on Labor day and I cannot believe my baby brother is a married father now.
So now begins the process of unpacking and getting totally settled here at the new house. We have gotten our rooms all completely setup with the furniture and things, now we have to start going through all the boxes in the garage and unpacking what we need out and leaving the rest of it packed but in storage in the garage. I am so relieved the move is done. The unpacking I can get to as I have time, but I just wanted to be done with the move and cleaning phase of all this. So now finally I am! YAY!
The wedding was beautiful. The location was awesome. The day was hot and humid, but not too terribly hot. The sun had set by the time the ceremony started which was good since it was outside. Made it a bit cooler. Hannah of course was the bell of the ball, and came very close to stealing the spotlight from Lindsay!
